DISAGREEMENTS

"Can we stop now? My feet really really hurt and I'm really tired. And hungry. When's dinner?" Rossmend was about to snap, he had had enough of the little pup's whining. They kept going without saying a word. It was true they were all sore and hungry, but being more experienced they could've kept going all night without rest. "This is so boring. Why can't we just stop for a minute or two? I'm not like you guys. I can't keep going on like this. Please can we just stop!" Icalave nodded to the other two.
"I'm sorry Budney but we cannot stop. We need to cover as much ground as possible with what time we have left." Icalave was determined but tried to show a kind voice to the little pup. He understood the conditions that the pup was bearing and gave him a silent praise.
"But we have all the time left in our lives!" protested Budney.
"For some reason I don't think that's right. The river and sky keep getting more fowl everyday." Icalave had a hunch that time was not on their side. "One of you carry Budney. We cannot afford rest now." Icalave walked on.
"Well I'm not carrying him," Rossmend said with a disgusted look at Arssneq.
"Fine," Arssneq rolled his eyes," hop on Budney and hold on if you can." Budney jumped onto his back and quickly gave Rossmend a hurt look. Budney had grown fond of him, but all that was answered on Rossmend's face was a look of hatred.
Budney was soon fast asleep on Arssneq's back after having a long chat to him about his life in Tredwood Forest. Rossmend kept asking and telling both of them that they should drop him and leave him, but neither of them answered.
The river flowed along side of them in the haunting dark. It ran along quietly mostly except for the occasional clash of water against rock.
They had all begun to grow tired and thirsty. The river beside them did not make it any easier. They kept at a slow walking pace to try and preserve as much energy as possible until they could at least find a suitable drinking source. The night was long and clouds soon began to cover the sky.
"Oh great, just what we need," said Rossmend sarcastically, he wasn't in a good mood, then realising what he'd said the other laughed at him with what little energy they could spare.
"Yep. Exactly what we need. Let's just hope those clouds will give it to us by morning," Arssneq struggled to speak with his dehydrated mouth.
"Let's just keep going and we shall find out. We must get to No-Manns Land before tomorrow nightfall!" Icalave had a worried sound in his voice.
"Why must we get there before nightfall?" struggled Rossmend, "what is so important that we must get there as soon as possible?"
"It's just a hunch I have." Icalave continued walking forward without meeting his gaze with Rossmend's. Rossmend was not completely convinced and neither was Arssneq. But they knew better. It was rare that Icalave was wrong.

The morning sun came creeping up under the thick clouds from the east. It was only just managing to spray out its rays of light from the thin slit between the top of Silvetatrape Forest and beneath the stormy sky.
They continued on trudging like zombie's. The cry of thirst from their panting throats was enough to make even the cruellest creature treat them with kindness.
The heavens above did not answer the three Wolvians needs. The day only grew hot and muggy; the cool river was running beside them, the fresh looking water lashing at the banks.
Suddenly Arssneq fainted. Budney woke with a frightful start as he was thrown to the ground off his back. Icalave and Rossmend immediately went running to Arssneq.
"He's fainted!" cried Rossmend," probably most likely from pushing himself to hard with all the extra weight on him!" Rossmend sent a nasty glance towards Budney. Budney only gave back a frightfully confused look, continuously looking at Arssneq, then at Icalave, then at Rossmend and back at Arssneq again.
"Get some water to splash him with!" Icalave boomed angrily at Budney. Budney ran to the river with his tail between his legs, to scared by Icalaves outburst to ask what he should fetch the water with. "Help me drag him closer to the river." Icalave and Rossmend gave all their last efforts of their own dehydrated bodies and pushed and pulled Arssneq as close as possible to the river as they could manage. Budney came bounding up with a mouthful of water and spat it all straight onto Arssneq's face. "Get MORE water! He NEEDS MORE water!" Budney again ran back down to the river. "Can you hear me Arssneq! Speak to me! Say something so that I can know your still alive!" Again Budney came bounding back up with another mouthful of water. And again he spat it onto Arssneq's face.
"This is all my fault isn't it?" Budney was on the edge of tears.
"Of COURSE it is you little PRAT! If you hadn't EVER come with us, NONE of this would've ever HAPPENED!" Rossmend's eyes, face and body all fumed with anger.
It all happened to fast for Budney to see.
Rossmend pounced out of rage straight towards Budney, claws outstretched and teeth barred into a frenzied grin. The sudden force of Rossmend landing on Budney was more than what Budney could handle. A high-pitched and most horrid yelp escaped from him as he was forced backwards into the river. All that could be seen was a large cloud of water rising up from the banks of the river. Large ripples cascaded into the middle of it.
Next was heard a loud THUMP.
"ENOUGH!" Icalave had thrusted himself hard against Rossmend who was sent flying with a loud splash further into the river. Icalave placed himself between Budney and Rossmend  who was now trying to stand in the depths of the water. Icalave could hear a faint cry coming from behind him as the pup coward behind him for protection.
"HOW can you protect IT?!" Rossmend's voice was harsh and trembling." HOW can you possibly protect IT when all it has caused us is trouble? He's annoyed the HELL out of us, he's caused Arssneq to die AND he's scared away the rains! TELL me HOW?"
Just then a large drop of water landed on Rossmend's nose and he snarled and snapped at it. From Icalave's view it looked as though he had gone insane with madness.
"Go back to Arssneq and see if you can get him to stir," Icalave whispered to Budney. The pup nodded and quietly crept back to where Arssneq was laying, always watching Rossmend for any sign that he was going to attack again. "I have a problem I must deal with," murmured Icalave to himself.
